AFF level 1 pass. 13,000 feet. I needed some prompting such as maintaining a good arch, straighten legs, first practice touch. I was able to deploy the pilot chute myself. After the parachute deployed, I did the canopy control check and everything worked as expected. For some reason I was far away from the holding area. When I looked down, I floating above a neighborhood in Eastlake lol! I navigated my way back over Otay Lake and I was able to follow the correct landing pattern: be over the holding area above the woods next to the lake at 1000', follow the creek parallel to the runway until 500', left turn over runway and then final approach at 250'. Thanks again to the great instructors at Skydive San Diego!
